Experience some of the best of Norman arts, including dance, music and opera performances, at the Arts Explosion showcase, next week Oct. 29, 2009 at 7:30 p.m.  All proceeds benefit the Norman Arts Council and arts community.

The benefit kicks off at 6:00 p.m. with a dinner provided by the Pink Elephant, at 123 E. Main Street, above Forward Foods.  Tickets for this dinner and the showcase are $75 and still available for purchase.

There will also be $20 tickets sold at Sooner Theater for just the Arts Explosion Showcase, which starts at 7:30 with limited seating.

Among roundtable members taking the stage are OU School of Dance, Sooner Theatre actors and Cimarron Opera Co. performers.  Art by the Studio Artists Association will be displayed through out the night, as well as performances by the Singer Song Writers of Norman.

Additionally, Firehouse Art Center, Jazz in June, Performing Arts Studio, Norman Public Library, KGOU and the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art will give presentations on the importance of the Norman Arts Council on their organizations.

Those who purchase $75 tickets and attend the dinner portion of the Norman Arts Explosion will be eligible to win a nubmer of door prizes including two framed photos by Mark Williams, a time share at Veil, an Arbonne Gift Basket, a pair of tickets to the Billy Joel and Elton John concert at the Ford Center on Nov. 25, an oil painting by Rick Fry, and published music Mary Sallee, which includes a collection entitled  Route 66 and the Oklahoma Heritage Suite (an official project of the Oklahoma Centennial).
