DCSF in July!

DCSF is back in business and we have a full month of events scheduled for July.  Mark your calendars because you don’t want to miss out on all of the good times that will take place at the DCSF gallery located at 324 East Main, downtown Norman.

July 8th – Summer Films in the Alley will be screening Boondock Saints II.

The pre-screening social time will begin at 8:30pm and the movie will begin around 9pm.  Admission is $5 and FREE popcorn will be available.  Please bring a chair or blanket and a cooler full of frosty beverages.

July 9th from 6 to 10pm – opening reception for Dreamer 27: Ideation to Realization, Dissecting the Design of Fashion. Dreamer 27 is an in-depth look at the process of creating a fashion collection, from inspiration, initial sketches and pattern-making to the finished product by recent Parsons, the New School for Design in New York Citygraduate, Jamie McCarty.

July 15th – the Spoken Word with guest poet, Lauren Zuniga. Lauren is the founder of the Oklahoma Young Writers Collective, an organization that provides literary opportunities and support for Oklahoma’s emerging writers. She has been nominated for State Poet Laureate by the Individual Artists of Oklahoma.  Admission is $5.

July 17th at 8pm- DCSF Annual Fashion Show – McCarty will be showcasing the culmination of her senior studies during a fashion show at Gray Owl Coffee, 223 E. Gray St. The collection being shown is the final result of McCarty’s senior thesis and includes hand knitting, dyeing, quilting, and original prints.

July 22nd – Summer Films in the Alley will be screening Breakfast at Tiffany’s.

DCSF is still aggressively recruiting new members.  Becoming a member of DCSF is one of the easiest ways for you to support a local non-profit arts organization in your community.  DCSF is the only local arts organization whose mission is to help emerging artists of all ages and educational backgrounds by providing unique and original programming.No donation is too large or too small and all donations are 100% tax deductible.
