June 30 Concert To Benefit Veteran’s Arts Program

Renowned pianist Beau Mansfield will perform a fun, innovative concert to benefit the Arts Program at the Norman Veteran’s Center from 2-6pm, Saturday, June 30 at the West Wind Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 1309 W. Boyd. Musical & Musical Insights is a Salon concert that features a number of classical pieces, yet strays from the traditional formality of classical concerts to also include jazz, boggie woggie, modern works, and rock.  During frequent intermissions Beau will converse with the audience about music and art and its importance to culture, quality communities, and public education.

Mansfield studied at the Peabody Conservatory and the University of Oklahoma. He has worked as a classical accompanist, theatrical music director, church organist and in bands of all genres from country to jazz. The artist choose the informal concert/conversation format to provide the Norman community an opportunity to support our veterans and enable people and families a chance to enjoy and learn about classical musical in a relaxed atmosphere. “We’re very excited to offer this concert. Beau is an amazing performer and it’s a way to thank our vets and enrich the spirit.” Said Ed Kearns event chair. A $10 donation is requested at the door, children under 18 are free.  Refreshment served and free child care offered.  Dress is casual.
