NORMAN, OK – The Firehouse Art Center will host the 36th Annual Midsummer Nights’ Fair on Friday, July 13 and Saturday, July 14, 2012, from 6:00 – 11:00 p.m. both nights. The event will be held in Lions Park, at Flood Avenue and Symmes, just north of the Firehouse Art Center.

In addition to the juried arts festival featuring unique, high-quality artist booths, attendees will also be treated to one stage featuring local bands and a second stage showcasing McMichael School of Music Rock Clinic bands. Bands scheduled to perform on the main stage are:

Artist’s booths will feature paintings, sketches, pottery, jewelry, glass, sculpture, woodworking and more for viewing and purchasing. There is original work for every budget, from student to collector, and artists welcome the opportunity to talk with you about their work.

A large central tent will host demonstrations by FAC faculty members and both adults and children are invited to participate in drawing and sculpting. The Children’s Art Wall will be available for young painters to express themselves, with the assistance of local artists and Firehouse faculty.

The Midsummer Nights’ Fair is the Firehouse Art Center’s way of giving back to the community.“We are grateful for the continuing support of local artists and members of the community who make it possible for the Firehouse to provide quality art education and exhibitions,” said Executive Director, Douglas Shaw Elder.
