Art Students Kick Off Fall Semester with Fourth Annual Tee Party

The School of Art and Art History is pleased to welcome students, new and old, with the first event of the 2012-2013 school year, the Fourth Annual Tee Party. The OU Printmaking Department, the Print Club, and the University of Oklahoma School of Art and Art History sponsor this free event, which kicks off at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 23 in the lobby of the School of Art and Art History.

Director Mary Jo Watson urges students to participate in this event, to “meet fellow classmates and give faculty and staff an opportunity to meet and greet everyone.”

Students and event goers can look forward to free printmaking demonstrations, pizza, soda and a chance to bring home a piece of original artwork by an OU School of Art & Art History student or faculty member. Remember to bring a blank t-shirt, pillowcase, or tote bag to be printed. The Print Club will also have a variety of blank t-shirts available for purchase as well as an assortment of pre-printed shirts. All proceeds will benefit the Print Club in their efforts to attend the Southern Graphics Council in the Spring and to bring in visiting artists. The Art History Association will host a Bake Sale in conjunction with the event to raise money for student travel.

Refreshments and t-shirts available for purchase are limited so don’t be late. This a free, come-and-go event that is open to the public so feel free to bring your friends and family to support our student organizations and enjoy the first event of the School of Art & Art History’s 2012 school year.

The University of Oklahoma’s School of Art and Art History is located in the Fred Jones Art Center (FJC), 520 Parrington Oval, in the OU Arts District.
