Cimarron Opera proudly presents the Villains Weekend, October 5, 6 and 7.  Multiple events are planned for different audiences to enjoy, all to be presented at “Davenport’s,” located in the northwest corner of the Couch Restaurants complex on the University of Oklahoma campus, 344 4^th Street in Norman.  Cast members for the productions feature professional singers and students from the Metro area, including Marcy Gonzales, Suzanne Stanley, Kristen Fitzgerald, Rodney Westbrook, Shane Pruitt and many more.

Cimarron Opera will present Villains of the Opera, an evening event, on Friday, October 5 and Saturday, October 6 at 7:00 p.m. at Davenport’s.  Audiences are invited to enjoy drinks and hors d’oeuvres, while experiencing an evening of performances featuring the creepy, the crafty, the evil, the tricky – the rogues, vixens and villains of opera.  Performances will include song selections from Carmen, Les Miserables, Tales of Hoffman, Ruddigore and more.

Tickets for the evening performances are priced at $18 ($15 for students and seniors), and are on sale now.  Space is limited, so advance ticket purchases are strongly recommended.  Tickets can be purchased in advance, either online atwww.cimarronopera.org or over the phone at 405-364-8962.

Cimarron Opera will also present Wolves and Witches, A Not-Too-Scary Children’s Matinee, as part of Cimarron Opera’sVillains of the Opera Weekend.  This will be an interactive opera experience, including performances by favorite villains from children’s stories, such as the witch from Hansel and Gretel and the Big Bad Wolf from various stories.  Performances will include song selections from Hansel and Gretel, The Three Little Pigs, The Little Mermaid, The Jungle Book, Little Red Riding Hood, Snow White and more.  The afternoon will also include a craft, as well as trick-or-treating with the performers.  This event will be appropriate for children of all ages, but is geared toward early elementary school-aged children.

The Children’s Matinees will be Saturday, October 6 and Sunday, October 7 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Davenport’s.  Space is limited, so advance ticket purchases are strongly recommended.  Tickets are $5 per person, and children must be accompanied by an adult.  Tickets will be available online at www.cimarronopera.org or over the phone at 405-364-8962 beginning September 1.
