The Norman Arts Council begins the 2012-2013 Hotel Motel Tax Grant process this November 12th. Applications are now available on the NAC’s website for the Norman Arts Council Hotel Tax Fund Organizational Grant Program for projects occurring between July 1, 2013 and June 30, 2014.

The NAC invites Norman-based non-profit organizations to apply for this grant to aid in funding arts and humanities projects in the community. An applicant may apply for no more than three (3) Arts Project Grants not to exceed a total of $15,000 combined.

As required last year, the attendance of a grant orientation is mandatory for the 2013-2014 application process. To be eligible, organizations must send a representative to a grant preparation workshop on Monday, November 12, 2012 at 7:00pm or Monday, November 19, 2012 at 4:00pm. The meetings will be held at MAINSITE Contemporary Art: Home of the Norman Arts Council (122 East Main Street, Norman, OK).

For the 2013-2014 granting season there is one competitive grant category: Collaborative Arts Project.  Arts organizations may apply for one Collaborative Arts Project Grant in addition to the maximum of three Arts Project Grants as described above. This grant is designed to encourage new collaboration of multiple eligible applicants to carry out an arts project, especially when the project joins with non-arts related not-for-profit organizations, such as social service organizations, schools, etc. Applicants in this category must include at least one arts applicant who will submit and administer the grant.

All applicants are required to be incorporated as non-profit tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organizations, and located in Norman. Projects must also occur in Norman and take place in ADA-compliant spaces.

The deadline for the 2013-2014 grant applications is Friday, January 18, 2013, by 4:00 p.m. Applications must be received in person or by mail at the Norman Arts Council office, 122 East Main Street, Norman, OK, 73069. Early submissions are encouraged.
