The University of Oklahoma Weitzenhoffer School of Musical Theatre and University Theatre present Avenue Q. The production opens Friday, Nov. 2 at 8 p.m. in the Rupel J. Jones Theatre, 563 Elm Ave, Norman. Additional performances are offered at 8 p.m. Nov. 3, 4, 8, 9 and two matinees Nov. 4 and 11. Rated R.
Winner of the 2004 TONY® “TRIPLE CROWN” for BEST MUSICAL, BEST SCORE and BEST BOOK Avenue Q is a randy, raunchy and non-PC laugh-out-loud musical that tells the story of a recent college grad named Princeton and other colorful friends that help him finally discover his purpose in life! Music and lyrics by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx, book by Jeff Whitty, and based on an original concept by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx. AVENUE Q is part flesh, part felt and packed with heart.
The cast consists of Weitzenhoffer School of Musical Theatre students Aaron Boudreaux, Jamie Butemeyer, Ethan Kahn, Brooke Lacy, Dorcas Leung, Sean McGee, Courtney Nevin, Ethan Spell, Alie Walsh and Kyra Wharton. The Avenue Q community includes The Bad Idea Bears, Brian, Christmas Eve, Gary Coleman, Kate Monster, Lucy T. Slut, Rod, Nicky, Princeton, Mrs. Thistletwat and Trekkie Monster.

Rated R, Restricted – children under the age of 17 require accompanying parent or adult guardian.
