Position: Media & Public Relations Internship
The Norman Arts Council (NAC), an arts focused non-profit in the heart of historic downtown Norman, Oklahoma, is accepting applicants for an unpaid Media Relations Intern for the Fall 2013 Semester. The intern will work with the Associate Director and will focus on both NAC initiatives such as the 2nd Friday Circuit of Art, NAC Press Releases, and News Development, as well as event planning for the ONE Annual Fundraiser, Norman Open Studios, Norman Studio Artists Association events, Cinematic Artists of Norman events, and many others!
The position also entails updating and editing the website’s calendar of arts events, typesetting organization’s press jobs, assisting with special events, photographing special activities and events, completing press clippings, and other duties as assigned. This is a great way to gain experience in the field while giving back to the Norman arts community.
A minimum of 10-15 hours is needed per week. Potential interns are encouraged to seek class credit for their time.
Students must be working toward a degree in public relations, journalism, advertising or media-related field. Applicants must be working towards completing a Bachelor’s degree and/or Master’s degree. Excellent written and oral communication, computer and program, and designing and editing skills are highly desirable. Individual must be hard working, responsible, dependable, and self-motivating.
A working knowledge of MSOffice is required and Adobe CS5 is preferred. Intern must commit to at least 10-15 hours per week and may earn class credit for their time.

Position: Administrative & Gallery Internship
The Norman Arts Council (NAC), an arts focused non-profit in the heart of historic downtown Norman, Oklahoma, is accepting applicants for an unpaid Administrative & Gallery Intern for the Fall 2013 Semester. The intern will work with the Executive Director, Associate Director, Assistant Preparator and will focus on non-profit operations including events, fundraising, and administrative duties. Interns will be in a gallery environment, communicating with visitors about exhibits in the space, assisting in preparatory work for shows, working with artists, and assisting with events.
This is a great way to gain experience in the field while giving back to the Norman arts community.
A minimum of 10-15 hours is needed per week. Potential interns are encouraged to seek class credit for their time.
Students who have a major or minor in Visual arts, art history, or non-profit management are preferred. Graduate students are highly encouraged to apply!
