Dance a l'Art
Dance a l’Art originally began as a series of fundraising dinners entitled “Dinners a l’Art,” in which private citizens would host and attend the dinner to help raise money for the NAC and its programs. Last year, collaboration between NAC Board Members Linda Whitaker and Maggie Mitchell created Dance a l’Art and opened the event to the public.
“This event provides crucial funding for the NAC to support arts in education programs, community arts programs and arts learning in community programs,” said NAC’s Executive Director Marta Burcham. “We are grateful to our volunteers and sponsors that make Dance a l’Art successful.”
One hundred percent of the ticket price goes to the Norman Arts Council to fund programs like Arts in Education bringing arts professionals to local school children and expanding the future of the arts in Norman.
This year’s dance is scheduled for Saturday, October 27, from 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. Tickets are $30 each and seating is limited to 400. Tickets for each event are available at the Norman Arts Council. Tickets are transferable, but non-refundable.
Dance a l’Art was made possible last year by support from Big Red Sports/Imports, Arvest Bank, Fowler Automotive, Bank of Oklahoma, First Bank and Trust, Gray & Company, Abbey Road Catering, and Sun Contracting. The NAC receives year-round support for its programs and operations from the Oklahoma Arts Council, National Endowment for the Arts, Republic Bank & Trust and through the generous support of the NAC membership.
