The Norman Arts Council is an ever-expanding dynamic organization that oversees many exciting events and programs with Arts and Cultural emphasis, and provides granting opportunities to public organizations existing in Norman, Oklahoma.
Two of the dynamic events the Norman Arts Council is responsible for are:
2nd Friday Circuit of Art; a monthly event including the organization of 20 or more arts entities in Norman, coordinating with the CART and OU.
The Norman Music Festival; an annual event designed to provide musical entertainment for free in Downtown Norman, including the coordination of 90 bands, with currently 30,000 visitors, creating a 2.5 million dollar economic impact on the City of Norman, for one day.
Internship Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Press release composition, Assisting in the composition of monthly newsletters, Assisting in the composition of a monthly blog, Assisting in the upkeep of NAC related social media sites, Assisting in the upkeep of email and mailing lists, Assisting in the upkeep of a monthly events calendar, Assisting in the mailing of printed material concerning membership and public relations.
Assistant to: Director, Administrative Assistant, Communications Director, NAC Board Public Relations Committee Members (20hrs /week),
Hours: Approximately 10 hours per week, per intern.These are unpaid internship positions.
