MAINSITE Contemporary Art: Home of the Norman Arts Council invites Norman to get creative and share their personal accounts of the arts in Norman in the Norman Arts Council’s new video contest, “You (Are) Norman Arts!” beginning October 1, 2011. With a one to three minute video, artists have the opportunity to fill in the blank and define the arts in Norman through visual and aural representation of their experiences, competing for a $1,000 first place prize.
The videos will be used throughout the year for promotion by the Norman Arts Council of the arts community in Norman. They will be available for viewing on the various Norman Arts Council websites. And they will be shown during the Norman Arts Council fundraiser, ONE!
Videographers can submit a hard copy of the video and a completed signed copy of the entry form between October 1, 2011 and February 20, 2012 to MAINSITE Contemporary Art: Home of Norman Arts Council, 122 East Main Street, Norman, OK. In February, three judges will choose three finalists. The three finalists’ videos will be displayed at the ONE party on March 31, 2012, in which guests are invited to vote for the first place winner.
Judges are Associate Director of the Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition, Kelsey Karper, Marketing and Public Relations Specialist for the Sam Noble Museum, Jennifer Tregarthen and Norman Arts Council past President, Joe Hopper.
