Join our Committees!

Would you like to help serve Norman Arts? We are currently seeking interested individuals to help guide and support Norman Arts Council's mission through a variety of committees that help steer the board of directors. These include areas like programs (2nd Friday, arts education scholarships), development/fundraising, governance, our ONE event and more!

Committees meet anywhere from monthly to quarterly, and committee membership is a great pathway for individuals who might be interested in serving on the Norman Arts Council board.

Committee Descriptions:

Governance Committee 

  • Oversight of Board compliance, nonprofit compliance, board assessments, nominations, and by laws.  

  • Plans the annual Board Orientation.  

  • Meets 6 times per year 

Finance Committee 

  • Works with ED to draft the annual budget 

  • Coordinating with the CPA to facilitate an annual audit and tax return 

  • Meets quarterly  

Development Committee 

  • Plan activities to raise money for NAC operations and programs 

  • Creates annual development calendar 

  • Monitors fundraising goals and progress throughout the year 

  • Meets monthly 

Grants Committee 

  • Drafts Hotel Tax Grant Guidelines 

  • Review of Hotel Tax granting process 

  • Review and approval of all Hotel Tax grant final reports 

  • Review of SOS and AMS grants application for board approval 

  • Meets monthly as needed 

Programs Committee 

  • Reviews goals and objectives for all NAC programs 

  • Drafts evaluations for all NAC programs 

  • May include sub-committees for specific programs that need attention 

  • Meets monthly

Strategic Planning Committee

  • Monitors progress of goals and objectives of the strategic plan 

  • Reviews plan for updates 

  • Meets quarterly  

ONE Planning Committee

  • Plans annual fundraising event 

  • Meets monthly September-December, Biweekly January-February, then weekly in March 

Access & Opportunity Committee 

  • Advises NAC on Access & Opportunity with respect to NAC programming AND all Arts in Norman 

  • Meets monthly 9-12 times per year 

Norman Public Arts Committee

  • Stewardship of public art in Norman 

  • Coordination of public art commission processes 

  • Meets at least 9 time per year 

Building Committee

  •  Looking at long-range needs of NAC Facility 

  • Meets quarterly and as needed 

PR & Marketing Committee

  • Reviews goals and objectives for all NAC marketing 

  • Drafts plans for all NAC PR 

  • Meets monthly
